(1841-1913), dt. Geowissenschaftler, Professor in Leipzig, gründete dort 1895 das Paläontologische Institut, Ansichtspostkarte ("Herfurth'sche Villa" des Verlegers Edgar Herfurth in Leipzig, ursprünglich für Credner in den Jahren 1892-94 erbaut) mit eigh. Zeilen in der dritten Person u. Namenszug "Prof. Dr. H. Credner", Leipzig, 3.3.1904 (Poststempel), an den österr. Geologen Franz Eduard Suess (1867-1941), dankt ihm "bestens für die freundliche Übersendung Ihres Aufsatzes über die Brünner Eruptivmasse, der ihn in hohem Grade interessiert hat." - Beiliegend eigh. Vorlesungsankündigung (1 S. quer-8) mit U., wird ab 29. Oktober (ohne Jahr) folgende Vorlesungen halten: "Allgemeine Geologie" und "Palaeontologie"
